Build a better world.

Most of the so called 'ills' of this world are the result of a misconception of happiness. Too many of us concentrate on 'getting' when we should be busy 'giving'. We take pride in teaching when we should find joy in learning. We are keen on winning when we should be content with putting up a good fight. We keep forgetting that life does'nt consist in holding a good hand, but in playing the hand we hold well.

Before the Japanese seized Hongkong early in the second world war, twentyfive valuable paintings were buried by the British. Three men were entrusted with burying these treasures in the grounds of the Governor's residence. All three were killed in action and each believed the other would divulge the secret hiding place. No trace of these paintings have yet been found.

We blame a lot of people, yet many of us are guilty of worse faults - We deliberately hide the talents and special gifts God has given us. A few of us, to avoid the responsibilities that come with being a leader; some of us out of a false sense of modesty; most of us out of indifference. Yes many are comfortable leaving the world having deprived our fellowmen of all that we could offer, if we had the courage and zeal to exploit in our lifetime, the talents and the gifts God has given us, We can improve the world without becoming world shakers, but by just 'being' world changers. Each in our own little way we can do this, follow to these few lines:

"You should build a better world", God said.

I questioned: How?

"The world is such a wonderous place, So complicated now;

And I so small and useless am, there's nothing I can do"!

Buit God, all wise and kind replied: "Just build a better you"
