What Money Can’t Buy
Even though man was born free he put himself in chains because of his ego. Man’s self-image became
so important to him that he became a prisoner of his own making, This was not God’s intention, when he created man, for(everyone) God created in his own image and likeness (This is ‘I’). But man enslaved himself to pride, greed, lust and every conceivable sin born of the flesh (This is ‘Me’).
Man’s lust for money, power and material possessions led him to commit murder, robbery and cheat his own fellowmen, which is against the will of God and the laws of the land.
Man’s pride blinded him from seeing his primary objective which was to love and serve humanity in thought, word and deed, using all of creation as His gift, for the welfare of his fellowmen. Man’s greed is legendary, in that, throughout history we see people who by their greed have brought dishonor to humanity. The latest example is the financial melt-down of the world economy, brought about by a few greedy individuals.
Man can be relieved of this burden only when he decides to release himself from his own bondage to put himself at the service of others without counting the cost or consequences, believing and trusting his creator God. Acknowledging the friendship of the One who lives within the same body, for we all were made in the image and likeness of Almighty God.
