A hindu priest once had a dispute with a philosopher who claimed that the final barrier to God was the word ‘GOD’, the concept of God. The priest was quite shocked at this but the philosopher said, “The ass that you mount and that you use to travel to your house or your temple is not the means by which you enter the house or temple. You use the concept to get there. Then you dismount and go beyond it.” You don’t need to be a mystic to understand that reality is something that cannot be ‘captured’ by words or concepts.
Everytime I have a concept, it is something that I can apply to a number of individuals. For instance “leaf” can be applied to every single leaf, small, big, green, red, it can be a single leaf or all those leaves in all the trees. I saw a leaf this morning, I say, you really don’t have an idea of what I saw. ‘Human being’ refers not to boy, girl, man, woman, child, primitive, civilized , not to this or that culture but to the concept.
I wanted to talk about words and concepts because I must explain to you , why it is when we look at a tree we really don’t see it. We think we do but we don’t. When we look at a person we really don’t see that person. What we’re seeing is what we fixed in our mind, we get an impression and we hold on to it and we keep looking at that person through that impression. And we do this with almost everything! Remember the famous quote of Jean Paul Sartre: “The other is hell?”
The fact is that we are surrounded by God, love, life, peace, joy, happiness, and we don’t see because we ‘know’ about these! The poor little fish in the ocean says:” Excuse me I’m looking for the ocean. Can you tell me where I can find it?”

Spend time sharing with your associates a little of what you learnt from being and working your business.
